The media has been full of warnings over the last few years. A lot of people have turned their attention to the lack of privacy in relation to emailing. Many more do not care. Have a look at some news clippings:
"Hacker leaks millions of Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail usernames and passwords"
"Microsoft is not unique in claiming the right to read users' emails – Apple, Yahoo and Google all reserve that right as well, the Guardian has determined."
"There are also ways to read people’s Gmail without accessing their account. For example, a G Suite administrator can set up rules to copy incoming and outgoing emails to a different account, or to copy all incoming emails to a different server."
"The NSA IS Reading Your E-mails"
"Yahoo, Bucking Industry, Scans Emails for Data to Sell Advertisers"
Lawmakers have started looking into these issues, but for now privacy can't be expected when using some of the biggest names in the email industry. Several smaller providers have offerings with different advantages and disadvantages. Some require certain software installed on you device. Some require every recipient or sender you email with to use similar technology.
We have developed a solution where you can still use your ordinary email client. As stated elsewhere, if you are willing to put up with more hassle, other solutions may offer more in terms of privacy. Our solution is recommended for privat citizens who share our privacy concerns.
